Hawkin’s Farm is an example of Geographic Sound Mapping or an acoustic soundscape. The sounds are mapped to locations on the farm to reveal the activities of that area. Combined the sounds tell a story of everyday life on Hawkin’s Farm. The geographic sounds recording creates a diary of sounds for future baseline reference revealing the social geography and soundscape ecology of the area for that moment in time.
